The object of the scheme is to extend fiscal incentives to textile sector industries across the entire value chain starting from fibre to stitched garments, to set up and expand such units in the State. The focus is on accelerated and focused development of the Textiles sector across the state. This shall enable to maximize the utilization of resources, generate new employment and widen the area of operation to make the state emerge as the preferred destination for investment in the Textile sector.

New MSMEs as well Large in the manufacturing sector of Textile that started production on or after 1st April 2022 as well as expansion of existing industry claiming to be eligible for incentive under WBTIS 2022 shall commence its commercial production of the expanded portion on or after 01.04.2023 provided the existing industry should have started as a new unit on or after 01.04.2022 under Modified WBTIS 2022.

Brief Overview of the Directorate: -

The Directorate of Textiles is looking after Power Textile, Ready Made Garments, Hosiery and Technical Textiles along with Handlooms, Spinning Mills, Silk weaving & Handloom Based Handicrafts Division West Bengal looks after the development of growth of Textiles Sector in West Bengal.

The directorate is implementing Schemes like National Handloom Development Programme, Cluster Development Programme, Training and insurance of Weavers for their sustainable development.

Objective of the Scheme:

The Scheme may be called Modified West Bengal Textile Incentive Scheme, 2022 (herein after referred as Modified WBTIS 2022)
